Two New Art Exhibitions Open January 24
Vessels and Portray

Exhibition on View:
January 25 - March 21, 2020
Opening Reception:
January 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm

The Anderson Center for Interdisciplinary Studies is pleased to present two new group exhibitions from artists working around the region. Vessels is co-presented with Minnesota Women Ceramic Artists (MNWCA) and features a wide range of vessels by member artists. Portray is curated by Anderson Center Director Stephanie Rogers and presents work by contemporary artists from across the region who draw and paint human likenesses. Both exhibitions open on Friday, January 24, with an artist reception from 6-8 pm, and are on view through March 21. The Anderson Center is located at 163 Tower View Dr. in Red Wing.

In Vessels, original and gorgeous hand-made works of art add warmth to the dead of winter. MNWCA members contribute to a show of vessels: cups, mugs, vases, bowls and more. This group exhibition showcases a wide range of colors and styles and celebrates the MNWCA’s vital community by displaying work by
32 artists working from across the state.

In two and three-dimensions and media ranging from pen and ink to oil paintings, Portray surveys a wide range of styles and approaches to one theme: contemporary portraiture in Minnesota. Featured artists include Leslie Barlow, Lindsey Cherek, Mike Hoyt, Art Kenyon, B-J Norman, Chris Rackley and
Russ White.

Exhibitions at the Anderson Center are always free and open to the public; donations are welcome. Gallery hours are 8 am– 4 pm, Monday through Friday;
10 am–2 pm on Saturdays.
