In 1999, the historic residence was restored to its original grace and beauty. The house was fully tuckpointed and 50 windows and frames were repainted, re-glazed and all broken panes were replaced. In addition, the roof was fully repaired to stop any and all leaks. All six bedrooms were refurbished to create a comfortable setting for resident-fellows and guests. The dining and living rooms were restored to their original states. It took 600 hours to remove the outer layer of white paint applied in the 1970's. Also, wood floors were restored to their original hardwood finish.
